MacFungus

MacFungus is a fascinating and engaging game that involves players eating each other's tiles on a grid. The upcoming network code promises to make playing with others even more exciting.

Playing the game is simple and straightforward. To begin, click on File and Start New Game. From there, you can choose the number of players, their names and colors, and then click on the Start New Game button to begin. The game grid will then appear, showing all the players and their shapes on the board.

Each player will receive a randomly-generated shape in the lower right corner, and the first player will start. Players can only apply shapes to the grid where it touches a square of their own color. If a player sandwiches an opponent's tile between two of their own, they gain control of that tile, and it switches to their color. If a player cuts another player in two parts, the part not connected to the head will be destroyed. The player who loses their head will lose the game, and the last player standing will win.

Bites are a useful tool in MacFungus. It helps players destroy an adjacent player's tile. Players can use bites by clicking on the Use Bite button and biting their opponent. New features include the Big Bites, Hot Corners, and Adjustable Game Speeds. Players can also use AppleScript commands to create or join games.

The game also features several usability enhancements. Players can turn off sound effects and enjoy an improved and user-friendly chat view. Right-clicking the mouse can rotate the random shape, and the redrawing speed is much faster.

Performance fixes are also in place in this latest release, including the correction of discoloration in the player's list, fixing the synchronization issues between hosts and clients, and preventing crashes or freezes when animations are playing. The game's stability has also been vastly improved. Overall, MacFungus is an enjoyable game with exciting features and enhancements.
