Machodis is a Perl-script software that is free and open source. It is designed to implement an annotating disassembler for the Mac OS X Mach-O executable file format. It supports universal, non-universal, x86 and/or PPC. Machodis is suitable for debugging flow-of-execution or reverse-engineering, particularly for potentially malicious code from unknown sources.
Machodis offers an annotation feature that resolves function calls, strings, 4-byte/single- and 8-byte/double-precision floating point numbers, int-packed string literals, and Objective-C classes, methods, and method signatures. It can track (partial) method arguments and demangling of symbols in C++. Additionally, anonymous subroutines can be detected with ease.
