Mdate

Mdate is a software utility designed to help users convert Gregorian dates to Mayan Long Count dates. Originally, it was based on some algorithms from N. Dershowitz and E.M. Reingold's book Calendrical Calculations. It has since become a GPL project and partially utilizes code from other GPL sources.

This project is continually developing, with the goal of providing a freely-available (i.e. non-commercialized) mayan date utility for Unix and other operating systems. Prior to Mdate's creation, a Unix utility of this kind was not readily available.

Please note that at this time, Mdate has only undergone thorough testing on a Linux system. Portions of the software were adapted from Ivan Van Langingham's mayalib Python library, a reputable resource in this field.
