Mila Ajax Map is an AJAX-based web application designed to display a network map while providing monitoring functions. Installing the software requires apache, python, python gadfly, and a cup of coffee. To begin, you must create the gadfly db with create_db.py.
Next, determine the x and y coordinates for your nodes and calculate the center of each node by adding the gif-image size/2 to the x and y coordinates. Establish connections in map.html using jg.drawLine(x, y, x2, y2) and create custom tooltips for each individual node.
Mila Ajax Map also offers the option of using rrdtools to create round-trip-time or traffic graphics, which can be found on the demo page. After completing these steps, copy all contents from "cgi-bin" and "htdocs" directories to your apache directories.
Add poller.py to crontab and the script for rrd (if applicable), and you're all set to open and relax. The software offers the ability to customize scripts to your liking. The latest release includes changes in JavaScript support, enhancing the overall user experience.
