MITCalc Technical Formulas and Tools

This software provides solutions to a variety of basic formulas from physics, technology, and mechanical engineering. The program features help and pictures, as well as selection tables that include values of various coefficients and material properties. The available workbooks cover a wide array of topics, including characteristics of solids such as volume, surface, weight, and inertia moment. Additionally, rectilinear motion, rotation motion, thermal expansion, friction, and design of engine capacity are all covered.

The program also includes a workbook that offers conversion of units, many technical tables, Vehicle aerodynamics, and External ballistics. The Vehicle aerodynamics module is designed for simple vehicle motion simulations. The program offers a list of typical vehicles to choose from, simple vehicle parameter definitions, and the calculation of forces, load, energy, consumption, and travel distance.

On the other hand, the External ballistics module provides simulations of firing various types of bullets. This module includes bullet definition, selection from the list of typical bullets, the calculation and selection of typical ballistic coefficients, and the calculation of forces, velocities, trajectories, angles, and other external ballistic parameters. One or two graphic representations of the results for a bullet are also provided.

The program is developed in MS Excel, allowing for easy access and flexibility. It is multi-language enabled and supports both Imperial and Metric units. It is a part of MITCalc, which is a comprehensive Mechanical and Technical Calculation Package for gear, belt and chain drives, springs, beam, shaft, bolt connection, shaft connection, tolerances, and many other calculations.
