The ModPlug player plugin for XMMS known as modplug-xmms is a fantastic software that can be used to enhance the audio output of your Unix-like system. Olivier Lapicque, the renowned writer of ModPlug, the best mod-like music player out there, had sent me his mod rendering code under the GPL in early December.

Since the current ModPlug version for Linux was outdated and had no GUI, I decided to develop an XMMS Plugin using the code. XMMS, the music player for Unix-like operating systems, resembles WinAmp, but with a sophisticated look. I have tested this software on Linux ix86 and see no reason why it shouldn't function correctly on other OSs that support XMMS. It is known to work on most, if not all, 32-bit platforms.
