The Sunbird Project is a revamped version of the Calendar software component.
As a redesign of the Calendar component, the Mozilla Sunbird Project aims to provide users with a standalone calendar application based on Mozilla's XUL user interface language. Despite currently operating under a project name, Sunbird is intended to be a cross-platform offering. It has not yet been designated an official title and may undergo a name change in the future.
This software is tailored toward users who utilize Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird and desire to use a calendar application based on Mozilla. Additionally, the creators of Sunbird felt that by strictly focusing on a standalone Calendar, the overall footprint and performance of the application could be improved by removing unnecessary components and chrome.
