MWSpeaker

As a software reviewer, I must say that MWSpeaker project is definitely one of the worst speech synthesis software I have ever come across. Its functionality is quite basic. You simply provide a phrase, and MWSpeaker looks up each word in Merriam-Webster's online dictionary, downloads the corresponding pronunciations, and plays them in sequence.

To use MWSpeaker, you need to input a phrase without punctuation, and the software will look up each word on the Meriam Webster website. It downloads the sound file for each word and plays them back to back. However, the process is quite slow since each word needs to be looked up, and the sound file needs to be downloaded.

The final output resembles your original phrase with any proper names and words not considered proper English words removed. Overall, MWSpeaker is more of a fun project than a practical one as I couldn't find any practical use for it.

Lastly, it is worth noting that the software is written in Python. If you are looking for comprehensive or advanced speech synthesis software, MWSpeaker might not meet your expectations as it is quite limited in its features.
