NewsPiper is an all-in-one software that allows users to read news and stock tickers from RSS, ATOM, and the web. It features a 3-panes newsreader interface for easy navigation and a NewsBar at the top of the screen for scrolling news.
The program layout is user-friendly and presents news articles in a typical three-paned newsreader interface. This includes a channels pane, news titles pane, and news details pane. Alternatively, you can use the NewsBar, a special bar at the top of your screen that displays a scrolling ticker of the most recent news.
Clicking on any news headline will open the full story page in your default web browser. NewsPiper Pro also features “news pronouncing” which will read out headlines and news detail from one or more channels, allowing you to use NewsPiper as a radio tuner.
You can easily add new channels in a variety of ways. Manually enter the URL of a web site or RSS feed or drag-and-drop it from a web browser or another program. You can also paste it in from the clipboard or add it from the "Online channel catalog" containing many popular web sites and RSS feeds.
NewsPiper also checks your connection status according to a schedule you set up and changes the color of the icon in the system tray bar accordingly. A green icon indicates you are online while a red icon indicates you are offline. Overall, NewsPiper is a great tool for staying informed with the latest news on the web.
