I recently tried out a unique software called "6 Cards". In this game, players are dealt 6 cards with the goal of trying to combine some or all of the first 5 cards to equal the value of the sixth card. The software allows players to use any combination of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, with up to 2 pairs of parenthesis added if desired.

The card and parenthesis interactions use a simple "drag and drop" style, making gameplay easy and intuitive. As multiple solutions are often possible, the scoring system encourages players to use as many number cards as possible. The value of each card used to construct a solution is added to achieve the player's score. Additionally, players can earn additional points by using division and multiplication operations.

But the fun doesn't stop at scoring points. Every time an equivalency is completed, the software displays a "hidden" background picture, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game. The "hidden picture" feature can be turned on or off in the preferences window, giving players the option to customize their experience.

One thing to note is that 68k machines may experience a noticeable speed increase if the "hidden picture" feature is turned off. Overall, I found "6 Cards" to be a fun and challenging game that requires both math skills and strategic thinking.
