NYCD is software that ported Thaumaturge demo to Linux operating system, and originally made for X'97/Takeover.
If you're a fan of Linux and enjoy demos, then you might want to try out nycd project, a Linux port of a Thaumaturge demo made for X'97/Takeover. This demo wasn't without its problems, however. Unfortunately, it crashed during the competition due to a bug in the compiler.
But now, with the release of nycd, you can (compile and) run the demo for yourself. To do so, you'll need to have libmikmod for sound and ggi for visuals (along with other helpful libraries like libc and libm). Thankfully, the program now also supports OpenPTC, in case you prefer that over GGI.
In creating nycd, the developer used libmikmod 3.1.8 and a ggi snapshot from November 17, 1999. And as for requirements, you'll need to have both libmikmod and ggi installed in order to run the program properly.
In the newest release of nycd, there's now PTC support. This update adds even more potential for users looking to enjoy this demo on their Linux machines.
