OctopuSsh

OctopuSsh is a versatile multiple ssh client written in Python, gtk2 and vte, designed to manage a set of machines. The software's name was chosen by Paolo Didone while searching for a new name as the original name had to be changed. Initially, the name chosen was 'MMA' which stands for 'Multiple Machine Administration,' but the team discovered that another software package already had a similar name.

Installation of OctopuSsh is straightforward. The easiest way to install the software is to first `cd' into the directory containing the package's source code, followed by typing `./configure' to configure OctopuSsh for your system. On an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from trying to execute `configure' itself. While configuring, OctopuSsh will print messages indicating the features it is checking for. After configuration, type `make' to compile the package. Optionally, you can run any self-tests that come with the package by typing `make check.' Type `make install' to install the programs and any data files and documentation.

To tidy up after the installation, you can delete program binaries and object files from the source code directory by typing `make clean.' To delete files that `configure' created so that you can compile the package on a different computer type `make distclean.' If you need all sorts of other programs to regenerate files that came with the distribution, you can use the `make maintainer-clean' target, which is primarily intended for the package's developers.

The latest release of OctopuSsh has added a German translation by Manuel Stufer to the po/de.po configure.ac. Overall, OctopuSsh is a user-friendly and efficient software package that makes the management of multiple machines convenient and seamless.
