OpenVerse

OpenVerse is a chat system that's built with an open source framework in TCL/Tk. It's a program that easily connects to any OpenVerse server, with both the server and client code in tow. Those using Debian stable can either use # dpkg -i openverse_0.8.5-1_all.deb or # apt-get source -b openverse if they have the appropriate deb-src line in their sources.list. Users of other distros, like Slackware, can install OpenVerse from the .tar.gz archive with the command # tar -zxvf OpenVerse-0.8-7.tar.gz # mv OpenVerse /usr/lib/OpenVerse # ln -s /usr/lib/OpenVerse/OpenVerse.tcl /usr/bin/OpenVerse.

In this release, OpenVerse has SKETCH, a feature that converts default servers from openverse.org to openverse.com, and VILE, which includes documentation updates for openverse.com. Overall, OpenVerse is a great software to use for chat, especially with its easy installation process and versatile platform options.
