OPIE

This handy Firefox extension allows you to import and export your installed extension preferences, a feature that can be very useful when setting up new Firefox profiles, or when synchronizing multiple Firefox installations. With OPIE, you can easily retrieve an extension's preferences by assuming that the extensionName is the chrome name. Essentially, this means the directory described after "chrome://" in the tag of the extension's install.rdf.

If no preferences are found in this format, OPIE automatically searches for preferences using the format "extensionName.preference". However, it's important to note that extensions that don't conform to either of these formats can't be exported using OPIE.

It's worth noting that OPIE is designed to work as a companion to other Firefox extensions, including FEBE and CLEO. Although OPIE doesn't yet offer the ability for users to assign a "preference root", this could be a feature that is added in a future version of the software. Had it offered this feature, some users would have considered OPIE more updated and user-friendly.
