Currently, Oreka supports VoIP SIP and sound device-based capture, and users can store recordings metadata on any mainstream database. The retrieval of captured sessions is web-based, making it accessible from any device.

Users can passively listen to network packets and record VoIP SIP sessions, with each call logged as a separate audio file. Alternatively, users can record from standard sound devices, such as microphones and line inputs, with the system capable of recording multiple channels at once. Oreka's open-plugin architecture for audio capture means that the software can potentially record from any audio source.
Oreka offers automatic audio segmentation, allowing users to split continuous audio sources into separate audio files that are easily retrievable. The software also incorporates voice activity detection and supports GMS6.10, A-Law, and u-Law compression to free up disk space.
