PacketX is a collection of ActiveX classes that enables winpcap packet capture capabilities to be integrated with programming environments that support Microsoft ActiveX technology, including Visual Basic.

PacketX not only allows users to operate in standard capture mode but it can also collect network statistics and send raw packets. The captured packets or statistics are then packaged in a convenient wrapper class and presented to clients as events.
Before attempting to use PacketX, please ensure that you have installed the winpcap library. Without winpcap, PacketX cannot run and will fail to function as intended. The installation of PacketX is successful with or without winpcap, however, running it without this library will be unsuccessful.
