PakMed Psych 72 is a Microsoft Office Access software that measures depression, anxiety, and stress using DASS self-report scales. It is a psychological/psychiatric tool for evaluating negative emotional states.

The DASS is not just another set of scales that determine emotional states, but it is intended to help define and understand the often-stigmatized emotional states of depression, anxiety and stress that are prevalent in society. Moreover, it enables accurate measurement of these states, making it an invaluable tool for researchers and clinical professionals.
Each of the three DASS scales contains 14 items. These 14 items are divided into subscales of 2-5 items, based on similar content, to deploy an accurate evaluation. The Depression scale examines feeling dysphoric, hopelessness, devaluation of life, self-deprecation, lack of interest or involvements, anhedonia, and inertia. For the Anxiety scale, it evaluates autonomic arousal, skeletal muscle effects, situational anxiety and subjective experience of anxious affect. Lastly, the stress scale self-reports on difficulty relaxing, nervous arousal, easily upset or agitated, irritable or over-reactive, and impatience.
To determine the extent to which each state has been experienced over the previous week, subjects are asked to rate four-point severity/frequency scales. Afterward, the scores for Depression, Anxiety and Stress are combined by summing the scores for relevant items. As a result, PakMed Psych 72 is an intuitive and easy-to-use tool for both researchers and professional clinicians.
