Para::Frame

Para::Frame is a versatile system that can be utilized to create dynamic web sites. It functions as a backend daemon that receives page requests from an Apache mod_perl client and returns a HTTP response. The URLs in the site are associated with templates for displaying information, with data operations separated from the templates. Para::Frame ensures efficient multi-tasking within the process, allowing you to keep initialized objects in memory without having to sync with the database for every request. Additionally, session data is stored in memory, eliminating the need for external saving.

Routes are employed by Para::Frame for determining what to do in a session, facilitating which page to display next, depending on form actions. The system is integrated with exception handling, ensuring smooth operation. Furthermore, a single Para::Frame daemon can handle multiple sites on the same server, utilizing Apache configuration for URL to file translation. Multiple Para::Frame daemons can simultaneously run on the same server, with one for development, one for the stable version, and one backup in the event of failure. Site configuration can be easily modified to implement a backup daemon as a last resort.

The system includes a Watchdog that checks the daemon in regular intervals to ensure its effectiveness. If the daemon experiences a lock up or reaches its memory limit, the system automatically restarts it by forking. Para::Frame furnishes plentiful useful functions to enhance its functionality.
