Particle Fountain Synthesizer is a monophonic synthesizer software that creates sound by moving particles in a 2D space. This free software enables users to attach sound to particles and create unique audio effects.
This software allows users to manipulate sound through the positioning of particles in space. The position of the particles determines important sound aspects such as frequency, amplitude, and panning. Up to 200 particles (and oscillators) can be active at a time. However, the more particles used, the higher CPU usage will be.
There are two simple waveform options available, sawtooth and square wave. The Y-Axis Offset control begins particles at a desired y-axis point, mimicking an attack envelope. Additionally, the Energy control determines the speed at which particles move, serving as a decay envelope. Higher settings cause particles to fall away faster, while lower settings cause them to linger for longer. Finally, the Angle control determines the range along the x-axis that particles will travel.
Installation is simple. Copy the ParticleFountain.vst file to your vst plugins directory at /library/audio/plugins/vst/. Overall, this software offers unique sound manipulation options through particle manipulation for users.
