PatchMaker is a motion tracking software that specializes in 2D editing and compositing of intraframe videos. It works by determining the motion of a selected object in a scene with extreme precision, up to subpixel accuracy, using a parametric motion model. The program provides several solutions for the computed motion, such as placing a patch that stays glued to the object or background stabilization, eliminating unwanted motion in a scene caused by camera jerks.
One of the strongest features of PatchMaker is its integration with Adobe® After Effects® (AE). The AE plug-in module makes importing or exporting footage between current projects easy, and applying computed transformations to the active layer is just one button click away.
Working with PatchMaker requires a simple four-step process: loading both underlay and overlay footage, selecting an object to track using the built-in mask editor, launching the tracking process, and performing a high-quality rendering of the transformed overlay or overlay applied to the underlay, stabilized underlay or exported computed transformations to AE.
