Pattern-lab is a software that identifies patterns.
Pattern-lab is a pattern recognition software that is optimized for OCR, but has capabilities beyond just that. Its primary method for pattern identification is through pattern matching. One of the main goals of the project is to separate merged patterns for more accurate recognition.
Currently, the software is still under development and new features are being added to improve its functionality. The latest release comes with a new feature called Data/DC, which enables the display of images within the documentation channel.
In addition, Pattern-lab is now XPLAB ready for 32/64-bit operating systems and has been tested successfully with Suse 10.3. The kernels used during testing were 2.6.22.5-31-default #1 SMP 2007/09/21 22:29:00 UTC i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux and 2.6.22.5-31-default #1 SMP 2007/09/21 22:29:00 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.
