PDF ePrinter

PDF ePrinter is a versatile software utility designed to facilitate the conversion of almost everything that you've printed into a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The application is powered by the LaserWriter or StyleWriter printer drivers, and it 'captures' the spooled print job, automatically converting it to the PDF format as per the set configurations. The output PDF file allows you to customize various settings such as viewer preferences, outline tree creation, web links, file compression, transition effects, thumbnail display, TrueType and Type 1 fonts embedding, etc.

With PDF ePrinter, you can create custom templates of your print job settings for reuse, facilitating the process of repetitive tasks. Additionally, you can control the entire printing and conversion process through AppleScript. However, note that PDF ePrinter is no longer in active development as Mac OS X has built-in PDF generation support.

To run PDF ePrinter, you must have a PowerPC-based Macintosh system that supports LaserWriter 8.5.1 or later with Desktop Printing. The system should have at least 4MB of available RAM, recommended 8MB or more for larger or graphically intense jobs. Overall, PDF ePrinter is a reliable and versatile tool that makes PDF conversion effortless and highly customisable.
