PictureXTracker is a great software that can help you search a selected folder or volume for all the picture files related to one or several documents. It is an efficient program that can find your pictures no matter where they are stored in your files. With PictureXTracker, you can easily search complete folders or volumes for the pictures belonging to your InDesign document.
The software offers some great features by allowing you to search complex file systems very efficiently for picture data. If the picture is anywhere in the selected directory system, then PictureXTracker will find it for you. If PictureXTracker discovers several pictures with the same name while searching through the directories, you can select from which directory the picture is to be chosen.
Moreover, the program displays pictures names and the directories where they were found. You can decide which picture in which directory you want to use. Once PictureXTracker has finished searching the directory system, an information dialogue appears and indicates how many pictures were found. You can now load the pictures and give your document a new link.
If the search didn’t find all or any of the pictures contained in the InDesign document, a list shows exactly which picture is missing on which page and where it was expected in the directory. The status dialogue shows how many pictures were found in the searched directory system.
