Luckily, for those running Linux, CDParanoia offers a reliable solution for creating secure sound files from CDs. Although it may not have the best user interface, it executes the job perfectly.

However, Mac users can also rejoice with the introduction of Pillage. This program is designed to bypass iTunes and provide a hassle-free experience. Once you've inserted your CD and set the Song Name and Artist fields in iTunes, you can switch to Pillage. From here, you can enter the remaining information into the "Rip CDs Here" panel and "Rip CD". Afterward, the program will properly rename your files, delete temporary rip files, and add your CD rips to iTunes. It's that easy!
