Podcast Cleanup is a software that finds and deletes outdated podcast files using different filters.
Amarok is an excellent media player and audio library management tool specifically designed for Linux. The software has a Podcast Cleanup feature that allows third-party extensions via a script system. Amarok comes with some built-in support for podcast subscriptions. However, currently, there is no convenient way to delete downloaded podcast episodes en masse. To delete downloaded podcast files from Amarok, you have to go through the podcast list, right-click on each episode, and select "delete" from the context menu, which can be quite cumbersome, especially since each deletion prompts a confirmation dialog.
As someone who listens to many podcasts, I found this to be a significant drawback and felt the need to come up with a better way to manage my downloaded podcast files. Consequently, I wrote a small script that allows you to delete downloaded podcast files either unconditionally or selectively based on specific criteria. For instance, you can delete all listened-to podcasts, podcasts older than a certain age (expressed in hours, days, weeks, or months), etc. You can even set up a schedule for automatic cleanups at specified intervals and request a notification when files have been cleaned up.

To install, download the `podcastCleanup.amarokscript.tar.bz2` file, open Amarok, select "Tools," then "Script Manager," and choose "Install Script."
