Pooka is a Java-based email client that utilizes the Javamail API.
Pooka is a feature-rich email client, built using the Javamail API and written in Java. The software supports access to email via multiple protocols, including IMAP (connected and disconnected) and POP3, while outgoing mails can be sent using SMTP.
Despite being in beta release, Pooka boasts a high level of stability that users will find reliable. Currently, there are two versions of Pooka available for download — version 1.0 for JDK 1.2.x and 1.3.x, and version 1.1 for JDK 1.4.x.
As the 1.0 releases are only to receive bugfixes, all new features including PGP support and spam filters will be developed for the 1.4 version. Anyone who enjoys having an extensive set of email handling tools should consider giving Pooka a try.
