QmailLDAP/Controls

QmailLDAP/Controls is a software that enables the user to store control information for Qmail in an LDAP database rather than files. This program requires the Qmail-LDAP patch. The reason for this patch is to have a centralised configuration of qmail. With this feature, relatively inexperienced qmail/unix personnel in the organization can perform trivial configuration stuff like adding domains to the locals and rcpthosts files. The simplicity of the web interface makes it possible for even a salesperson like Stef to handle it.

Setting up multiple qmail servers, either as a cluster or standalones, is easy with a simple web interface. You can have all the configurations in one place, under the same Control DN in the LDAP database. This feature makes it harder for inexperienced personnel to forget a host when modifying system-wide information.

The only requirement for the software is qmail-ldap. Many issues in control.c and build issues have been resolved in this release.
