QMyMenu is a dynamic menu tray icon designed for *nix operating systems. It provides support for dynamic menus and can be easily customized to cater to the user's needs.
QMyMenu is a tray icon software designed for *nix that comes with dynamic menus support. As a first-time Qt user and developer for the free software community, the program does not promise to be perfect.
The primary objective for creating this software is to cater to the dynamic menu feature from pekwm that I missed after switching to KDE. Additionally, it's an easy-to-start project for me. The software installs a sample configuration file, ~/.qmymenurc, which you can utilize as a base. Additionally, there are two sample scripts, qmymenu-fstab and qmymenu-network, that you can use for dynamic menus.
I intentionally did not use KDE dependencies to increase the program's compatibility with other desktops. For instance, you can swap "RunAsRoot" with "RunAsRoot=GTK" if you prefer GNOME/Xfce.
To build the software, navigate to the QMyMenu directory and execute the following commands: qmake #(from your qt4 distribution), make, and make install.
The software requirements include KDE 3.5.x.
The latest release has a context menu with launchers, icons, subdirectories, dynamically-generated menus, no icon lookup, and desktop file support. We aim to integrate the freedesktop XDG into the next release.
