R-Mix - a software tool for editing loops effectively.
I recently had the opportunity to try out R-Mix, a real-time loop editing tool with some additional remix features. Overall, I found this software to be a useful resource for music creators looking to tweak their tracks and create new sounds.
One of the standout features of R-Mix is its ability to loop sounds up to 20 seconds with triggering and phase cancellation. This makes it easy to create extended loops that seamlessly blend new and existing sounds together.
The loop function was straightforward to use - simply click on the "Loop" button, and it begins buffering sound. When it's time to reverse a sound, just click "Reverse." However, it's worth noting that if this button is clicked while sound buffering is full, the sound can become full of clicks.
R-Mix also includes a "Return" option that allows users to go back to the loop's start position quickly. The "Synchro" function lets you sync your work with R-Mix's tempo and duration, which disables the loop size slider. Sadly, the Midi (Midi Clock) function doesn't work right now, which is a minor drawback.
The "Trigger" function is a useful feature that begins playing sound from the loop start when the loop is on. Additionally, the "Stereo" feature facilitates phase cancelation with its left-right slider upper. You can adjust the loop start position, loop size, tempo, and duration using the appropriate sliders. It's worth noting that certain sliders are disabled when the synchro button is turned on.
The "Trigger Tempo" feature triggered loop tempo, and the 16-step Trigger buttons were simple to operate. The Volume function works great; nothing special here.
