RJGlass

RJGlass is a CRJ Glass Cockpit simulator, built using open source and OpenGL. The installation process involves running RJGlass.py with Python in Linux, and ensuring that 3D acceleration works with the video card. Additionally, PyOpenGL 2.X, GLUT, and PyGame need to be installed (avoid using PyOpenGL 3.X). For Ubuntu users, python-OpenGL python-PyGame can be installed via apt-get. The configuration settings can be changed in the config.py file, which is the only Python file if using the Windows executable. The file has comments to guide users, with the most frequent changes including altering the resolution, choosing between windowed and fullscreen modes, selecting operation modes, and setting the Port that RJGlass connects to SimConnect on. It's vital to put a specific XML file in the appropriate place on the computer running FSX to allow RJGlass to connect. Pressing Escape or Ctrl-Q will exit RJGlass, while keyboard assignments are available for different functions.

In the newest release, RJGlass has moved map works across North America and now works with Microsoft's ESP. The limited AutoPilot functionality features audio altitude callouts, while the Altimeter settings now work in HPA.
