I recently had the pleasure of using SafeSquid Business Edition 50, a web proxy server designed for Windows. The interface is browser-based, making it accessible and user-friendly. SafeSquid's claims to offer the world's biggest set of Content Filtering features are not exaggerated, with its Total Access Control, Total Content Control, and Total Internet Security features.

One of the standout features of SafeSquid is its multi-threaded architecture, which ensures that even with extreme content analysis and security measures in place, it delivers the industry's fastest throughput. Additionally, the Content Filter Web Proxy Server has an intelligent DNS cache, which works in concert with a highly manageable content cache system and configurable content pre-fetching to allow for quick browsing of frequently visited sites.

The flexibility of SafeSquid is impressive, as it lets users create unlimited and highly granular internet policies that define and deal with an unlimited number of unique factors, depending on user/network/web-site/mime-type/size/time etc. It is even possible to create policies that allow or block specific content, such as music, Advertisements or JavaScripts depending on custom protocols.

SafeSquid can authenticate users from remote Windows ADS or OpenLDAP servers and allow them to be added to a whitelist of authorized users.
