ScrollServer - a Python-powered HTTP server enables users to access ScrollKeeper database through any web browser.
Today, we will be reviewing ScrollServer, a Python-based http server that allows you to access a ScrollKeeper database with any web browser. With this tool, you can easily browse and search help files that are installed in the ScrollKeeper database on your computer. But there's more! In the future, you will be able to access online ScrollServer databases as well.
The latest release of ScrollServer introduces some exciting new features. First, the internal cache files have been moved to cache root, improving the overall performance of the software. Additionally, the new release now handles anchors (#foo) in URIs, which is a significant usability improvement. All of the caching is now in /var/cache/scrollkeeper, and the software passes the locale string to ScrollKeeper for improved localization capabilities.
Further improving the user experience, the css stylesheet has been moved to stylesheets/css/default.css, and many tweaks have been made to the default stylesheet to make it more user-friendly. Additionally, the new release includes three new pages: `ScrollServer Reset,' `ScrollServer Controls,' and `ScrollServer Help.'
