If you're a Linux user and have a large number of scanned images from your digital camera or other sources that you need to edit quickly and with minimal mouse clicks, then you'll want to check out the Semi-Batched-Image-Editor program. This software is designed to make your life easier by allowing you to select images based on regular expressions, rotate them to the right orientation, select a good detail, scale them to a given output format, and apply some color correction.

One of the key features of this software is its ability to select input filenames via regular expressions, making it easy to organize and manage your images. You can also create output filenames using regular expressions and substitution, allowing you to save time and streamline your workflow. Another great feature is the ability to select image details with a given proportion, which is especially useful when you're working with images of different sizes and proportions.

If you need to scale your images to a given output format, SeBIE has you covered. This software allows you to scale your images to a variety of different formats, making it easy to export your images in the format you need. And if you need to apply some color correction, SeBIE can handle that too. Although it currently only supports gamma curve correction, this is still a useful feature that can help you get the most out of your images.

One thing to note about SeBIE is that it's not a fully batch processing software. A bit of user interaction is still needed, but this is intentional as it allows you to fine-tune your edits and ensure that you're getting the best possible results.

Installation of SeBIE is relatively straightforward. Simply download the source distribution from the download page, unpack it using the 'tar' command, change to the source directory, run the configure script, and then build and install the executable. Once you've done this, you can start using SeBIE by typing 'sebie' in the command line.

In terms of updates, the latest release of SeBIE adds two new events to the main window (delete_event and destroy) and improves handling of the resizable drawing area. Overall, if you're looking for a powerful yet easy-to-use image editor for Linux that can handle large batches of images, then SeBIE is definitely worth trying out.
