Seq24 is the quintessential loop-based MIDI sequencer. The main advantage of Seq24 is its straightforward interface, making editing and playing MIDI loops an absolute breeze. When aiming to find a software based sequencer capable of delivering the necessary functionality for a live performance, similar to the Akai MPC line, Kawai Q80 sequencer, or the widely popular Alesis MMT-8, I came up short. With this knowledge, I embarked on creating a stripped-down sequencer that disposes of the unnecessary features found in bigger software sequencers while carefully including a subset of features that prove useful while performing live.
