Serial over Ethernet is software that enables up to 255 serial port devices to be shared over a network. The software can effectively transform a computer into a low-cost terminal server.

With this program, when a serial port device sends communication data, it is transmitted over a TCP / IP network, thanks to the use of virtual serial port technology that emulates standard COM ports. As a result, the Windows OS handles virtual serial ports in the same way as real ones, so you are no longer restricted to only two real ports per system, and can set up COM port connections without using a real serial port.
Serial over Ethernet offers the ability to establish different connection types, fulfilling three main purposes: sharing a serial port for incoming connections (Server), connecting a serial port to a remote host (Client), and sharing a serial port using UDP.
The software has been updated to version 6.0, with a totally new user interface for even easier connection creation and management. It also includes connections visualization, the capability to set conditions for packets transmission for all connection types, and the ability to specify multiple remote computers for simultaneous UDP connection. Overall, Serial over Ethernet is a useful program that delivers secure, efficient and convenient serial port access over Ethernet.
Version 6.0:
- totally new interface;
- you can now specify several remote computers for simultaneous UDP connection;
- possibility to turn off Serial to Ethernet Connector (requires Administrator rights and permits to temporarily disable created connections without deleting them);
Version 5.0:
- Added: universal function Keep Connection Alive for Telnet and Raw protocols
- Updated: User Manual
