Session Keeper is an awesome software that can keep a longer session with one Web Application that has an inactivity timeout. And to configure the Session Keeper, nothing is easier than using its Options. In the Options, you can enter 'start' and 'end' URLs, ping URL and ping interval (in minutes).
It's a smart move to use the 1st URL loaded after you login as the Start URL. However, if you use the URL of the login page, then the ping will start before you are actually logged in.
