SineSeq software generates and plays a sequence of sine waves.
SineSeq is a unique software program that enables the user to play a sequence of sine waves. With SineSeq, users can create a customized frequency list where each frequency is played for a specific number of seconds. All the user has to do is open the file in SineSeq and it is ready to play.
The files used in SineSeq are plain text files, and each line starts with a frequency, followed by a comma, then the duration in seconds. If no duration is specified, the frequency will play for three minutes. Comments lines should begin with a "#" character, and white spaces are ignored.
The entire list of frequencies that the user creates is called a program. To start playing, the user can press "return," and the program will start. If the user needs to pause the program, they can press "p," and to resume, press "p" again. The user can navigate to the next frequency by pressing "n" or to the previous one by pressing "v." If the user wants to stop the program, they can hit the "delete" key. Users can also control SineSeq from the menu.
An alert will notify the user when the last frequency is finished. Users can also double-click on a line to start playing from that point in the program. Whether the user starts playing from a specific line or not, SineSeq will play the highlighted line and then continue down the list. If a line other than the currently playing one is highlighted, SineSeq will move on to the following line once the current line ends.
SineSeq features a status area that shows the current frequency and the time remaining for that frequency. While the program is running, the status area is constantly updated. The status area is large enough to be seen clearly from several feet away, and users can shrink the window to its smallest size and still be able to read the status area.
Please note that SineSeq has not been fully tested for accuracy, but tuning it by ear, it appears to be identical with a Windows version (written by someone with proper instruments). The developers would greatly appreciate it if someone with a frequency counter could test it. SineSeq is freeware for personal use, making it an excellent option for anyone interested in experimenting with different frequencies and sounds.
