SmartActivate

I recently had the opportunity to use SmartActivate and I must say, it's a fantastic software! SmartActivate was created to simplify the process of activating windows from a specified process to avoid screen clutter. The normal activation process brings all windows belonging to an application into frontmost. However, usually, only one window is required. With SmartActivate, you can activate only the necessary window to avoid an overly cluttered screen.

What I loved about SmartActivate is that it comes in two different versions- a Scripting Addition version (SmartActivate.osax) and a command line tool version (activate). These two versions don't depend on each other, so you can easily install either one or both versions. If you decide to install the SmartActivate.osax, you'll need to copy it to the ~/Library/ScriptingAdditions/ folder, where ~ signifies your home folder.

In conclusion, SmartActivate is a useful software that simplifies the process of activating windows. It has a great user interface and offers two different versions for added flexibility. If you need to activate only one window from a specific process, I would highly recommend giving SmartActivate a try!
