Snmpstat

I recently had the chance to test Snmpstat, a software that allows you to access router interface information and statistics through a web interface using the SNMP protocol. This software has been tested on Linux/Apache and is compatible with CISCO routers and Route Lynx RL-2000 routers.

To download and compile Snmpstat, you will need the CMU-SNMP package. Once you have downloaded the software, you can get started with the following steps:

1. Unpack the archive if you haven't already done so.

2. Open the snmpstat.h file and make any necessary changes.

3. If you have a different location for the CGI scripts on your HTTP server than "/home/httpd/cgi-bin/", make sure to edit the Makefile accordingly.

4. Type "make; make install" to start the compilation process.

5. If you want to define default router(s) for monitoring, edit the /etc/snmpstat.conf file. You can use the provided template as a guide.

6. To access Snmpstat from your web browser, simply try the following:

- If you want to display statistics for routers defined in the /etc/snmpstat.conf file, type "snmpstat" and hit enter.

- If you want to define a router manually, follow the instructions provided by the software.

Overall, I found Snmpstat to be a reliable and easy-to-use software for monitoring router interface information and statistics. Its web interface and compatibility with multiple router models make it a valuable tool for network administrators.
