SOPHISTRY software is designed as an Ambient Synthesizer for music production. Its intended purpose is to deliver high-quality sounds and music production capabilities.
Sophistry is a powerful ambient synthesizer software that offers a comprehensive range of features for creative sound production. With over 700 exclusive presets based on more than 5 GB sound samples by Frank XenoX Neumann from Particular Sound, Sophistry provides a versatile architecture built around four generator modules blended into two filters.
The four generator types featured on this software include oscillator, time-sampler, wavetable (Schrader), and loop-sampler. The free filter features new, continuously adjustable, modulatable filter-type, while the loop sampler generator boasts individually modulatable loop-points and start-point. With the easy-edit panel, preset browsing and access to main synthesis parameters are a breeze.
There is also an editable, powerful arpeggiator with up to 32 steps, and stereo and 5.1 support, with two generators, both filters and three of the effect units that can be mixed in 5.1 format, all of which can be stored as part of the preset. Other features include an analogue-modeled oscillator generator, time-sampler with independent real-time time-stretching and pitch-shifting, wavetable generator, and loop sampler generator.
Sophistry supports audio formats including WAV and AIFF up to 24bit/96kHz, with two analog-style multimode stereo filters with modulatable cutoff frequency and resonance, and 7 ADSFR-type envelopes for controlling output amplitudes and cutoff frequencies.
Additionally, there are four independent LFOs with various waveforms and MIDI-sync capabilities with modulation matrix with 10 routings for connecting 30 sources and 56 destinations. Sophistry fully recognizes Velocity, Aftertouch, Pitchbend, Modwheel, and various other MIDI controllers and includes a "MIDI Learn" function for easy controller assignment. Six simultaneously available effect units, including various Delays, Chorus, Phaser, Filter, Flanger, Gator, Stereo Enhancer, Parametric EQ, and Crusher are available.
Sophistry also features mono/polyphonic portamento/glide with fingered mode, switchable constant time/constant rate, and auto-bend modes, and 32-voice polyphony (CPU dependent,) which saves settings with the song.
Sophistry requires a 1 GHz CPU, 1 Gb RAM, VST2.0 or AU capable host software, and a screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher, with 5.5 Gb of free space on your hard drive.
