Sparkplug

Sparkplug is a Python-based AMQP message consumer daemon. This software can be configured using a set of config files that define the messaging configuration elements. Within the source code of Sparkplug lies an example program which includes various configurations such as connection, queue, exchange, binding, and consumer options.

The [connection:main] component of the example program connects to the message broker node by specifying the host or host:port, virtual host, userid, password, and SSL settings.

The [queue:events] defines whether the queue is durable, auto-deleted, or exclusive for this program.

The [exchange:postoffice] component specifies the exchange type (either direct, fanout, or topic), whether the exchange is durable, auto-deleted or exclusive for the Sparkplug program.

The [binding:postoffice/events] section specifies the queue to bind to, exchange, and routing key to be used.

Lastly, the [consumer:echo] component of this example program defines the entry point identifier, queue to consume against, and format of the message passed.
