Springy

Springy is an archiving utility designed to simplify everyday archiving activities. With its sleek and intuitive graphical interface, users can easily browse files in archives in all three view types (as icons, as list, as columns). Unlike other archiving tools, Springy allows users to view the contents of an archive without having to extract any file from it, making the entire process much quicker and more efficient.

One of the standout features of Springy is its ability to modify archives, allowing users to add, delete, replace, and rename files or folders within archives. This means that adding a few files into an archive no longer requires extracting all files, adding new files to extracted ones, and then archiving them all back again. Additionally, users can quickly extract a few files of their choice from an archive, preview files within an archive with just a double click, and easily delete or rename files inside an archive.

Springy also includes a Finder contextual menu plug-in, allowing users to create archives, add files to archives, extract whole archives, compress and decompress files, all with just one right mouse click in Finder. This eliminates the need for users to constantly switch between different applications while performing archiving tasks. Additionally, the hierarchical contextual menu allows users to browse files and folders in archives and extract a particular file or folder in just a few clicks.

Springy supports various file types such as ZIP, TAR, TAR compressed with GZIP, BZIP2, and Unix Compressed methods, plain GZIP, BZIP2, and Unix Compress compression. Future releases plan to include support for even more archive formats.
