SRG is a CRCnet-centric Squid Report Generator. It caters to the specific needs of CRCnet by generating reports that are tailored to their requirements.
SRG is a Squid Report Generator developed to meet the specific requirements of CRCnet. Unlike other report generators that didn't provide the exact solution we needed, we decided to create SRG from scratch. The tool is designed to be fast and easy to integrate with other authentication systems used by Squid.
One of the key features of SRG is its PHP output with built-in authentication hooks, which makes report generation a breeze. It also provides fast processing and enables reporting right down to the location visited, giving users a complete overview of user activity.
The latest version of SRG comes with several new features and improvements, such as fixing an assertion failure when the output directory contains a subdirectory that's invalid, fixing compilation problems on sparc64, and fixing a bug with localtime causing the Period to be reported inaccurately. The -A, -c, -D, -e, -L, -p, -P and -T options have been deprecated and replaced with new functions, which are detailed in the FAQ.
A new option (-r) has been added to allow sorting output reports by any column via javascript. Additionally, meta tags have been added to prevent indexing of reports by robots. SRG now defaults to generating location reports and displaying the requesting host in location reports. The -H option is now used only to specify whether DNS lookups should be performed.
Minor updates to the stylesheet have been made, and example scripts have been added for generating SRG reports. In addition, a basic debian package is now available for users looking for an easy installation experience.
