SSHMenu

SSHMenu is a useful GNOME panel applet that simplifies all of your SSH connections. With just one click, you can easily open an SSH session in a new terminal window. The interface is straightforward, and it comes with various options for customising your connections.

Organising your hosts is incredibly easy, as you can group them together using separator bars or sub-menus. You can even open all the connections on a submenu with a single click. It's a fantastic feature that saves you time and effort.

One of the best aspects of SSHMenu is the ability to set a colour scheme, font size, and other settings for each connection. You can ensure that you always connect to the right server and avoid any pitfalls. It's a real time-saver.

The Host Connection Details dialog provides you with plenty of flexibility. You can specify the name displayed on the menu, connection parameters, window size and location (optional), and GNOME terminal profile. The server log entry featured in the screenshot connects to the server snoopy and runs tail to watch the Apache log file; the output appears in a 120 character by ten line window in the bottom right corner of the screen.

You can also add SSH options before the hostname. For instance, you might add '-AX hostname' to enable forwarding of SSH agent and X11 protocols. Other options for port forwarding or host-specific connection parameters are also available.

SSHMenu also includes a configuration 'wizard' that builds a menu with any hosts it finds in your .ssh/known_hosts file. The Preferences dialog allows you to reorder host items, add separators, and organise items into sub-menus. Overall, SSHMenu is a fantastic tool that streamlines SSH connections and simplifies the entire process.
