Subliminal Image Pro (SIP) software is a great tool for exploring the concept of subliminal images. With this software, you are able to see for yourself whether subliminal imaging works or not. SIP works by flashing images in the center of the display on top of everything else. In addition, users are able to group their images into categories and select images to be displayed in either list order or at random.
Upon launching SIP, users are greeted with the Control Panel. From within this panel, users are able to fine-tune their display settings. The top slider controls the on-screen time, which can be set anywhere between 1 ms (1/1000 of a second) to 50 ms. The middle slider is used to adjust the period between images being flashed, which can be anywhere between 5 to 60 seconds. Lastly, the bottom slider is used to control the darkness of the image.
One of the great features of SIP is the ability to quickly minimize the Control Panel by clicking a checkbox situated at the top. Another great feature of SIP is that it automatically creates a folder called "SIPPictures" in your Users/~/Document folder upon launching for the first time. Users are able to copy images into this folder and access them via the Image Maintenance window found in the menu bar.
Files in the SIPPictures folder must be in either jpg, tif, tiff, png, or gif format and must use the appropriate file suffix. New images are automatically added to the bottom of the list whereas deleted files are removed from the list.
