SvxLink is a voice services system designed for ham radio use. Its aim is to create a flexible, adaptable system that can provide a range of services to users.

The svxlink server is composed of a core that is responsible for the connection to the tranceiver. The audio from the tranceiver is received by the PC via the sound card, and the PTT is regulated by a pin in the serial port. The core can be adapted to act as a repeater controller or to function on a simplex channel.
The voice services of SvxLink are stored as plugins called modules, and there are a variety of existing voice services to choose from. These voice services are: Help, Parrot, EchoLink, and TclVoiceMail. Help provides a help system, Parrot is a module that plays back everything you say, EchoLink is great for connecting to other EchoLink stations, and TclVoiceMail offers a simple voice mail system.
