This software is a useful tool for those who need access to up-to-date information on Swiss federal gauging stations. The widget displays more than 300 stations with real-time data, as operated by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
Information displayed includes the name of the river or lake, the current measure, unit, and date and time of measurement. The date is shown in the format DD.MM.YY. The widget automatically checks for new data every 15 minutes and reads the data directly from the FOEN webpage.
It's important to note that all data displayed are provisional. However, by clicking on a station name, users are taken to the FOEN site, where they can access that station's PDF. These PDFs are available in either German or French, depending on the station location, and show a graph of the past 7 days.
