A software solution that reintroduces 1-click iSyncing to OS X 10.4, allowing mobile phone users to easily synchronize their devices with their computer.
The iSync menu bar item functionality in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger has recently undergone changes by Apple, which has left some users unhappy. As per the message from Apple Support, in order to sync information with any phone configured in iSync, the iSync application must remain open to perform the sync via Sync Now from the Sync Status menu. This means that users cannot sync information with their mobile phone from the Sync Status menu if iSync is not open.
Since the sync functionality now requires an open iSync application, some users opine that it's a drawback in terms of user-friendliness. However, users can still add Sync Now to their preferred menu bar app launcher or dock, which will revert to the old 1-click sync functionality without having to manually open iSync and click again.
When Sync Now is initiated, it opens iSync, starts the syncing process and exits both iSync and itself once the sync is finished.
