The System Statistics Remote Checker tool allows for remote monitoring of a computer's physical status. This software provides an efficient way to keep track of system information without the need for direct access to the computer.
SSRC is a powerful software tool that allows users to remotely check the physical status of their computers. It is extremely easy to use and test. Installing SSRC simply requires editing the logins.dat file to store logins that are allowed to access the software. Logins specified there do not even need to exist in the system.
To get started with SSRC, just execute the binary file at any Linux station. If it doesn't work, simply compile it yourself using the command '$ gcc -O3 -Wall -o SSRC main.cpp' and then execute the file. To check whether SSRC is running properly, simply run the command '$ ps aux | grep SSRC | grep -v grep'. Once it is up and running, users can remotely access any machine worldwide by telnetting to the machine's port 1225.
Once logged into the system, users can enjoy a wide range of available commands by typing "help". Unfortunately, there is still no shutdown command available in this release. Users will need to kill SSRC by themselves using the command '$ killall SSRC'.
In terms of new features, this release of SSRC has a standalone daemon, which means it can work even without inetd. There have also been some bugfixes, and the software now comes with a detailed set of instructions in the README, INSTALL, TODO and this file.
