TerminalColors is a software solution that enables the user to edit ANSI colors via a color picker, simplifying the process of modifying terminal colors.
Introducing TerminalColors, the SIMBL plugin designed to enhance Apple's Terminal.app. With a new color picker, select and edit ANSI colors with just a few clicks. The default blue and red colors used by Terminal.app can be nearly invisible on non-LCD screens, so why not cater to your color preferences?
Installing TerminalColors is a breeze. Simply download SIMBL and TerminalColors, expand the bundle, and drag TerminalColors.bundle into ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins. Restart Terminal.app, and you're good to go. As a bonus, a $10 donation is appreciated to support the development of the plugin.
Once installed, using TerminalColors is easy. Launch Terminal.app and select Terminal -> Window Settings... from the menu bar. The inspector window will now have a popup button containing ANSI Colors. If this is not displayed, an error may have occurred during the plugin installation. Selecting ANSI Colors will display color picking areas where you can adjust individual ANSI colors. When changes are made, be sure to click Apply to set them. Apply only affects the current session, so using Use Settings as Defaults or saving the session setup will retain your color settings.
This release of TerminalColors includes a rebuilt universal binary and a metapackage installer for the plugin. The plugin works on both Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4. The only requirement is SIMBL.
